Background of the Academic Institution

Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (UMP) is the largest private university in western Central Java, which is accredited as UNGGUL (No. SK: 557/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/VIII/2023). The university actively develops international cooperation with hundreds of world-renowned universities in the field of research and improving the quality of human resources (HR). Currently, UMP has 11 Faculties with 36 D3, D4 and S1 Study Programs, 8 Postgraduate Study Programs and 5 Professional Programs. UMP has now developed into one of the private universities to be reckoned with, this can be seen from the increasing number of students accepted.

Vision

The vision of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto is "To become a superior, modern and Islamic university in 2031".

1. Excellence means that the university has competitive and comparative advantages in the fields of education, research, community service and management.

2. Modern is a university that is always at the forefront of scientific developments and carries out updates according to the needs of the times.

3. Islamic is the organization of universities based on the principles and values ​​of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

1. Organizing education, research, and community service in a professional manner and implementing university management in accordance with the principles of  good university governance .

2. Developing science, technology and art in accordance with the demands of the times.

During my stay at UMP, I was in awe at the very first sight. Around a quick stroll, the university speaks a certain sense that is in between grandeur and hospitality. Indeed, I am in no doubt that it is a melting pot of excellence — a canopy that shelters its students in achieving greatness. It is to my fascination how strikingly accurate the architecture of each building represents each college departments. Nadia Naris, one of my fellow buddy during my stay there, once shared to me that UMP is a home to them in many way such as providing the free internet access during their late academic commitments, or more so we can say "cram until dawn" moments!
